Alumni Attitude Study Strategy

Inspired By Excellence and Innovation

Since 1992 the Alumni Attitude Study
has worked to develop robust and reliable systems of metrics for organizational planning and development.

In 2001, The Alumni Attitude Study© was introduced as a cost effective, easily implemented survey instrument that provided actionable data from the perceptions and preferences of University Alumni.  Since then more than 300 educational institutions have used The Study to maximize budgeting, programming, communications and strategic planning.

Our focus is long term, donor-centric engagement that is cost effective and results oriented. That’s why we say, “Not one time, but a lifetime.”

Our Team

Rob Shoss

Managing Consultant

Rob Shoss describes his work as measuring things that are seemingly unmeasurable. As a founding member of Performance Enhancement Group, Ltd. (PEG) Rob was instrumental in developing processes that measure and analyze such intangibles as attitudes and perceptions. Since 1991 PEG’s organizational development consulting business has addressed the complex issues of customer/donor satisfaction, market perceptions, and alumni/employee perceptions of organizational support.

In 2001, Rob’s team at PEG focused their attention on ways to deliver a data driven approach to enhanced alumni and prospective donor engagement for universities and colleges. Since that time, PEG has completed more than 500 projects within higher education and has worked with the advancement executives from universities across the country to identify key drivers of alumni engagement.

Rob has a unique ability to bring both right-brain and left-brain insights to this work.  His presentation of the findings is often cited as one of the most valuable components of the survey project.  He is adept at presenting to all parts of the campus from the trustees to general audiences that include faculty and staff from all parts of the campus.  Rob has an unparalleled talent for making the presentation meaningful and focused on the issues that are most important to the audience.

Over the last 17 years, Rob has published numerous articles on national alumni trends for CASE Currents and presented on how schools are developing programs and communication strategies that are targeted to meet the needs of their alumni at CASE conferences.
